It's December, getting close to Christmas. The case has been solved, Nanako has been revived. She's still sick in the hospital, but at least she wasn't dead anymore. Yosuke has strong feelings about this. He's angry about Nanako being kidnapped, about her being in the hospital. This had not been a part of his plans and never would have been. Leave the innocent kids out of it.

But now is not the time for anger. He's walking to school with Yui and he wants to make sure she's as happy and content as possible. "Hey," he says, slinging an arm around his best friend's shoulder. "You gotten asked by anyone for Christmas Eve yet?"

He feels a pang of possessiveness as he asks.

An idea's forming in his head, because he's not stupid. He almost smirks at it, but he replaces the smugness with a concerned look. "Yui," he says, putting his hands on her shoulders. "Let me ask you a question."

She keeps her gaze averted from him, but nods. "I suppose."

"I'm going to take a guess here," Yosuke says. "So please look at me while I do."

Yui exhales a sigh before finally looking up. She still averts her gaze from his eyes - rather she looks at his nose, merely pretending that she's looking at him fully. "Go ahead," she says, her voice resigned.

She of all people knows Yosuke is not stupid.

He's a little annoyed at that, because he can tell what she's doing. But the thing he likes about her is that he can't control her, so he lets it slip without comment.

Yosuke takes her hands in both of his own and states his question. "Is it me?"
